Top 5 must-see movies before the end of summer

There’s something special about escaping the summer heat to sit in a cool theater and kick back with a bucket of popcorn and a cold soda.

After more than a year of cinemas being closed due to COVID-19, the world of cinema is back with 2022. summer series.

Choose from drama, family, action, thriller and more this summer. Local theater has something for everyone.

Here are the five most popular movies of this summer.

#5: Elvis

Below is Elvis starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks. If you’re a fan of early 2000s Disney and Nickelodeon like I am, you may recognize Butler from your favorite childhood TV shows. After guest roles on Zoey 101, ICarly, Wizards of Waverly Place and more, Butler made his debut as Elvis.

This movie showcases the life of the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. It covers everything from his rise to stardom to his downfall from drug addiction.

Tom Hanks is Colonel Thomas Andrew Parker, Presley’s manager. Only true Elvis fans know the truth behind the Colonel and his toxic relationship with Elvis.

After illegally immigrating to the States from the Netherlands, Parker discovers Elvis and uses his talent as a ticket to pay off his gambling debt. In turn, Presley became the best-selling artist in history, and remains so to this day.

The film illustrates how societal pressure can shape bad habits and the resulting consequences.

Elvis is one you can’t miss, especially for music history fans.

4: Thor Love and Thunder

The list wouldn’t be complete without a Marvel movie. Thor Love and Thunder is the 4th film in the Thor series and the 29th in the entire Marvel Universe.

If you’re like me, you have little to no idea how the Marvel Universe works and which movie is after a while. However, I’ve been told that Thor Love and Thunder is a great movie for Marvel dummies like me.

The fourth installment of the Thor series takes viewers on Thor’s journey to defeat Gor with the help of his ex-girlfriend Jane. Together, the two embark on a mission to seek peace and closure.

Maybe this will be the movie that finally gets me into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

#3 No

Jordan Peele has done it again. The recent release of No is right up the horror/thriller fan’s alley. As I do not happen to belong to a horror fan club, I have not yet seen this film.

This addition to Peele’s horror collection follows in the footsteps of his previous horror hits Get Out and Us.

Horror fans can’t get enough of Peele’s comedy-turned-horror.

The film tells the story of two siblings who discover something unusual in the sky above their ranch. This is how the two travel to discover and draw attention to this situation.

Be sure to hang some popcorn while watching this movie and watch out for the scary stuff!

#2 Where Crawdads To sing

Bookworms, this is for you. Where Cancer Sings is based on the best-selling novel by Delia Owens.

The story tells about the life of a young woman, Kya Clark. Kya has been isolated and closed off her entire life because she is different from the rest of her community. After being abandoned as a child, Kya grew up in her home in the swamps of North Carolina, earning her the disgusting nickname of Swamp Girl.

When one of her past love interests is found dead in a swamp, Kya is the first suspect.

This film highlights the encounters and challenges she faces as a result of being different and uncovers secrets that should remain unknown.

I entered the cinema with a pessimistic attitude, fearing the long duration of the film. Tears were streaming down my face when I left. This film had an emotional pull for me and many others in the room.

Where the Crawdad’s Sing is not only based on a bestseller, but based on the harsh reality of the world we live in. This story reveals the challenges that society places on those who stand out from the crowd. Outsiders.

This movie will make you lie down, cry, and rethink how you treat others. I highly recommend watching this movie.

#1: At the top a weapon

After the initial premiere in 1986 Tom Cruise is back with several other stars in the long-awaited sequel to the hit movie Top Gun Maverick. For those who saw Top Gun in 1986, this is a big deal.

Maverick (Top Hanks) returns to the United States Naval Academy to teach current TOPGUN students, including the son of his dead best friend Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller). Maverick must lead his students on a dangerous mission as he faces the brutal reality of his past.

Action-wise, this movie has it all, with a plot full of drama that can be traced back to the original 1986 movie. movie.

One downfall of the film is the absence of the beloved actors from the original. Both Kelly McGillis (Charlie Blackwood) and Meg Ryan (Carole Bradshaw) are missing from the sequel. McGillis and Ryan are adored by early 80s film and film buffs.

Despite the hesitation to see a sequel to an ’80s favorite, Top Gun: Maverick is definitely the first movie to see this summer.
